What is Tragus Piercing

By

The most popular kind of body piercing that most people know is probably the ear piercing. But did you know what is a Tragus Piercing? Have you heard this thing before ? Well, the Tragus is actually a small cartilaginous flap in front of the external opening of the ear. The tragus piercing is considered to be an exotic kind of piercing and it has grown to be a very popular and trendy in these past few years.

Tragus Piercing

When doing the tragus piercing, a specialist or an experiece piercer does the the whole process. This is carried out by using a specific type of needle only for piercing.

Normally, a piercing can be painful just like any kind of piercing. After a few days, the pain will just dissapear. The piercer is normally the one that will decide if how long a needle is needed and how big the hole will be put in the ear as he or she will base it on the size of your tragus. There will be a ring or a retainer that is going to be put into the tragus hole after the procedure. This ring or stud will be taken off after the wound or hole has healed up.

Once it healed up already, you can immediately wear any sort of jewelry for your tragus piercing. You need to find a good ring or stud as you will use it for several months to prevent the hole for closing up. Always take good care of your earrings. Every time when you remove your earring, be sure to clean it proper and you can also put some saline solution to it. Perhaps you can use cotton for cleaning your tragus earrings. A good hygiene is essential for you to avoid infection and irritation to your ear.

Should you encounter any irritation, pain, or swelling, you need to go to visit your healthcare expert immediately.
